About Us

PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk ("TBS") today is a manifestation of our sustainable business transformation process. We began in the mining industry, and as time passed, we gained more knowledge about the importance of sustainability from a profitability standpoint and how TBS as a business entity can significantly improve the quality of community life and the environment.

This led us to expand into the energy industry, including renewable energy and electric vehicles, which provide many opportunities to ensure the sustainability of our business and make a meaningful contribution to the betterment of our country.

We are Indonesia's leading integrated energy company with a growing emphasis on clean and renewable energy development. Our current operations include electrical power plants, mining, plantations, and electric vehicles. We are moving towards clean and renewable energy for the future, emphasizing sustainability in our business lines and looking for potential business prospects.

One of our missions is “Service”, a desire to serve society better. Therefore, we are transforming into an energy company focuses on developing a green business and clean energy as we believe that by providing greener energy we can make significant changes to the environment and society while supporting the Indonesia Government's target of achieving Zero Emissions in 2060.

We describe this transformation commitment in the tagline “Towards Better Society” which refers to TBS's commitment and values as a company that is relentless in pursuing the best sustainable energy sources. Our eye keep to look to the future while our feet steady in the present, overseeing our ongoing contribution in the energy sector. Because our dream is to create a better environment and better habits in the future.

To support TBS's transformation into an integrated energy company that focuses on the use of clean and renewable energy, we have developed a 2021-2030 business development roadmap to become a pioneer of the green business revolution in Indonesia and achieve carbon neutral with specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timebound steps.

We are reinvesting in green energy businesses on a massive scale. These include new renewable energy power plants and electric vehicles instead of fossil fuel-based businesses. At the same time, we will gradually phase out our fossil fuel-based operations to significantly reduce our carbon footprint across our entire business portfolio.

We uphold our stakeholders’ values and strive for optimal performance across all environmental, social, and corporate governance metrics. In 2021, we demonstrated our continuing commitment to transitioning our business to renewable energy and green transportation. We wholeheartedly support Indonesia's goal of achieving carbon neutral by 2030.

TBS was established under the name PT Buana Persada Gemilang based on Deed No. 1 dated August 3, 2007, made before Tintin Surtini, S.H., M.H., M.Kn., as substitute Notary of Surjadi S.H., Notary in Jakarta.

PT Buana Persada Gemilang changed its name to PT Toba Bara Sejahtra based on Deed No. 173 dated July 22, 2010, made before Jimmy Tanal, S.H., as substitute Notary of Hasbullah Abdul Rasyid, S.H., M.Kn., Notary in South Jakarta.

Furthermore, based on Deed No. 110 dated August 26, 2020 made before Aulia Taufani S.H., Notary in Jakarta, PT Toba Bara Sejahtra Tbk changed its name to PT TBS Energi Utama Tbk.
